as both a young man and a mature adult and take a close look at his works.

A great sculptor who was one of the three most important and influential artists of the Early
Renaissance.
Fifty years after his death he would become a very important inspiration to the divine
Michelangelo.

Brunelleschi was the first architect of the Renaissance and his buildings still decorate and define
Florence’s identity and appearance.
In this tour we shall follow him and his architecture and will
try to understand his principles and innovations which were to influence the artists coming after him.

A very important artist of the Renaissance who trained many others in his workshop.
As the creator
of the work that was to be defined afterwards by Michelangelo as “The Doors to Paradise” we shall examine
these doors and take a look at other works by him in the outdoors.

Benvenuto Cellini
A goldsmith, sculptor, great artist and a pathological liar!!!
In this visit we shall understand
his greatness as an artist and despicableness as a human being.
Moreover, we will be exposed to the
complexity of Florence of the 16th century.

Giambologna
Jean Boulogne, a non Florentine artist, passed through Florence on his way back home and stayed for
the rest of his life.
Though being a foreigner he managed to conquer the city with his talent and to
become one of the most important and famous sculptors in Florence and in the whole of Europe of the 16th
and 17th centuries.

Baccio Bandinelli
Though considering himself an equal, he was an inferior and unworthy rival to the divine Michelangelo.
Through his works we shall understand the difficulties, intrigues and quarrels in artists’ life of
the 16th century in Florence.
